Tour Update #3 (Los Osos, California)

Hello from surprisingly sunny Los Osos!

Believe it or not, it’s not cold and overcast over here!! We have had completely beautiful weather during our time here. It has been so good to be here with Pastor Randy and Anne Nash once again. It’s been just about our 12th time visiting their church and as always we had a great time. A lot of us got a little toasty and red at our beach day, but to get in there and surf was definitely worth the burn!

We had some great opportunities to perform Alive Again both at their church and local community center. The Nash’s and the MC grads there did a fantastic job spreading the word and both nights had great turn outs.

Here are some of the highlights from the two nights:

Jayna had a word for a lady named Melissa and felt led to tell her that the Lord wanted to be her father and protector. Melissa broke down and started to cry because recently her father who is a pretty extreme alcoholic decided to chose that lifestyle over his family and walk away. It was weighing on her and her daughter pretty heavily and Jayna was able to really pray with her and release a lot of comfort. The cool thing was that night Kelly also felt the same word over the same lady and at a completely different time gave her that same word and got to pray with her as well.

Our first performance Adi saw a man and really felt the Lord give him a picture of the guy carrying a huge burden on his back with the word finances written across the top of it. Adi approached the man and found out he was spot on. Finances were incredibly tight and nothing seemed to be working out for this man. Adi was able to pray with him and really impart faith and pray over him to release his burned to the Lord.

One of the most exciting ones happened with Charlli our first night as well. About 3 weeks ago when we were in Atlanta, the Lord gave Charlli a prophetic song and told her she would sing it over someone in Los Osos. When we started out ministry time the Lord highlighted a girl and Charlli knew immediately that was the girl she was supposed to sing over. She approached her, a little nervous, but trusting the Lord was going to work on her behalf. Charlli sang over her and the Lord just touched this woman. Her name was Melissa and was their worship leader, Will McCabe’s sister who was very newly saved. She has had an incredibly traumatic past of which Charlli at the time was unaware of. She was amazed at the accuracy and relatability of Charlli’s song and went home and asked Will how Charlli knew so much about her already. She was amazed to find out that it was just the Lord and Charlli knew absolutely nothing when writing it.

Lastly, Meagan was able to lead a new member of their church to the Lord for the ery first time. Her name was Michaela and her family just started getting really involved in the church after recently moving to Los Osos. There was a marked difference in her even from the beginning of the meeting to the end of the ministry time.

From Los Osos we are heading over to Victorville with Pastor Randy Howard. We so appreciate your prayers and miss everyone back home tremendously. You all should be incredibly proud of how the MC students are representing the Lord and stepping out in faith. Their risks are paying off and peoples lives are truly being changed.

Tour Update #2 (Santa Rosa, California)

Hello everyone back home and afar!

Tour continues to be an amazing time of seeing the Lord pour out on His people and change lives. Our last update (sorry they’ve been kind of late, internet connectivity isn’t always easy to come by on the road) summed up our time in Novato which was awesome. We have just left Santa Rosa with Pastor Adam and Jo Peacocke. We were all anxious and excited to see what the Lord did through us in our time there. A large majority of our time went to helping City Life Fellowship move into a new building. The Lord blessed them tremendously by opening up a great new building that comes fully stocked with amazing amenities and the coolest kids church you’ve ever seen. We spent most of Friday and Saturday moving in and now they are set up in a great new building.

We had an awesome street ministry time with a local group named Raven Ministries. We were with them last year for the first time and their focus really reaches out to a very large, lower class Hispanic neighborhood. We were able to go out with them as they passed out huge amounts of food and clothing and perform Kingdom Rhythm and really reach out and pray for those around. Even though there was a language barrier, the Lord ministered strongly and a number of people accepted the Lord for the first time. It was so great to see how the Lord can use Kingdom Rhythm to rise above the constrains of language and really touch such a diverse group of people.

We performed Alive Again for the first time in Santa Rosa at CLF’s new building and had an amazing time. The presence of the Lord was definitely the thickest we have had yet in performing and so many people were touched. Here are some of the highlights from our ministry time that night.

Whitney and Kelly really felt led to go talk to two girls, Sarah and Josie, at the end of the night and upon asking them for prayer, Whitney felt she needed to ask if Sarah had ever accepted the Lord into her heart before. After talking about it, Sarah expressed how the Lord was never someone she experiences personally, but had recently felt increasing desire and pull towards giving her heart fully. Whitney and Kelly were able to lead her to the Lord and had an amazing discussion with her about her family. Come to find out, her father has been in prison for quite a few years and has refused any interaction with her or her siblings. This had been weighing really heavily on Sarah’s heart and Whitney was really able to speak from her own testimony of how she was adopted and really found love in the arms of Christ. Sarah was tremendously touched and forever changed and is looking at joining Christ Church Northbay because she lives only a few minutes away from it in Novato. (interestingly enough, after talking with Sarah’s friend Josie, we learned that she is related to the Quiring’s and McCuen’s…small world!)

Adi really felt like he had a specific word for the nights performance and when we walked in the Lord highlighted a guy in the back. Adi approached him, sat down and continued to very simply and clearly say that the Lord was faithful and in control of what his mom was going through and no matter what was going on ,the Lord would have his way and there was no need to worry. The guy was stunned upon hearing this and told Adi that his mom had recently got a new boyfriend and after a while they discovered that not only was he an alcoholic, but also very abusive. He was able to really confide in Adi what he was feeling and going through and they spent a lot of time praying and interceding for him and his mom. He was so blessed over the fact that the Lord got so specific with a guy he had never even met. It boosted Adi’s faith a lot too!

Riley was approached by an older gentleman who obviously had a lot on his mind. After hearing Riley’s monologue (which touches on apathy, putting off school and just wasting time in video games and creating his own fantasy world through his entertainment and loneliness) this man approached Riley pretty amazed because just that same day his wife and his son had almost word for word the same conversation Riley has in the play. He was stunned to see it completely reenacted right before his eyes. Riley was able to pray with the man and his wife and really intercede for their son and break apathy over his life. They left with a lot of hope and expectation of what the Lord would do in the life of their son.

From Santa Rosa we took off to Los Osos! The update from our time there will be following shortly. Thank you again for your prayers. We appreciate them so much. Miss you all, cannot wait to be home!

Tour Update #1 from Class of 2010

Hello from sunny California!!!

THe MC Class of 2010 has successfully completed therr first stop on our 2010 Alive Again Tour. They so appreciate your prayers and support both before and since they left Kirkland. The Lord has already been answering their prayers. Kaleb Willis has provided a compilation of updates about how the tour has been going.

We have a great couple of days driving down with no problems or challenges and we made great timing! Since we took off from Kirkland on May 7th, we arrived in Novato at Christ Church Northbay (CCNB) and have had a fantastic ministry time. It was a great time with Pastor Bill and Pastor Isaac. The Lord definitely brought His presence as we performed our play in front of two different churches and CCNB’s academy.

Here are some of the highlights of our time in Novato:

Sunday morning we had a fantastic ministry time with CCNB. Jake Byland was our first prophetic painter of the stop. He received a very specific word and picture of a bunch of tear drops inside one larger tear drop. The word he got was that every tear this certain individual had cried, God had been there, right along side, crying with Him. He got up on stage and felt led to give it to an older gentleman in the back row. Without knowing the specifics as to why he felt led, he boldly spoke this word over the gentleman. Come to find out, the man’s father recently passed away, which was an extremely hard circumstance in this man’s life. He was a faithful Christian and and father who lived to be 100 years old. The whole church took a big blow in the loss of this man. Jake’s painting and word ministered to him very deeply. He came to Jake at the end of the service near tears over how much it touched him.

Riley got a word for a man need Daryl at the end of the service and really felt the Lord say clearly that he was a man who was called to be a big dreamer. When he went and began to speak to the man, he soon found out that just recently he had opened a record company called big dreams. Riley got an opportunity to pray over this man and really release the Lord’s direction and timing over his endeavors. When they continued to talk later on, he told Riley that that morning when he woke up he felt the Lord clearly say that he needed to be at church today (apparently church wasn’t his usual custom) and no matter what he did, he couldn’t get that overwhelming feeling to leave him. So when he came, he said that for the first time he felt God prove himself as real in his life.

One of the most exciting ministry interactions actually happened to one of our students. CCNB felt led to take an offering for one of the MC students who did not have her tuition fully covered. The guy taking the offering said that the Lord showed her a brunette girl in need of the extra finances. Chanel Bell just happened to fit the requirements and walked away with almost $1000 towards her unpaid tuition. She was overwhelmingly blessed and shocked by their generosity.

That might we went over to one of the larger Assemblies of God churches in the county and performed Alive Again as well. We had an incredible night there as well where the Lord met a lot of people. Jessica Hart got a word of knowledge that a lady was unable to bear children. She prayed about who it was and felt the Lord highlight someone in the audience. She took a very bold risk and approached the woman and was right on; just days earlier that very lady learned she could never bear a child. Jessica was able to pray with her and speak the goodness of the Lord over her, bringing much needed comfort and love to this woman. She was tremendously blessed, especially being that it was Mother’s Day.

Overall the Lord has been tremendously faithful in providing, covering and blessing us. We have seen him move in deep ways, touching hearts and transforming lives. We are excited to continue on these next couple weeks and see what the Lord does. We have great expectation for what is going to happen. We arrived in Santa Rosa at Pastor Adam’s church yesterday and in true Peacocke styling we have a ton of opportunities to minister and perform Alive Again. We are excited to see what is to come.

Thank you so much for your support and prayers. We are truly seeing them pay off. We love all of you and miss you all so much. Excited to be reunited with our CCK family in a couple of weeks.

God Bless,

“In Christ, all will be made alive." 1 Cor. 15:22

“You call this living!?”

Sometimes life just feels so out of control.
It can feel like we’re surrounded by darkness.
So many broken homes, broken relationships, a broken economy……a broken life.

“Is there a way out? Can I hold on?”
“Is there an answer to find? Is there hope?”

Do you just act like everything’s okay? Hide the pain?
Is there any rest from it all?
Does anyone even care?

There is Someone calling to you.
He has broken the darkness!
He does care about you and what happens.

“Count yourself alive to God in Christ Jesus.” Romans 6:11

Kirkland MC Alumni News (Oct/Nov: Issue#4) Beginning of our 16th year!

To Know Christ & the power of His Resurrection

As we are being our 16th year of Master's Commission here at Christ Church Kirkland, I am reminded of Paul's words in Philippians chapter three. "I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection. I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." Our goal every year is for the students to get to know their Heavenly Father and Lord in a way they never have before. The year in MC gives them an accurate view of who Father is, and it changes them forever. Then, out of that knowledge, we want them to realize that Father God has a plan for their lives that will only be accomplished, as they completely trust in Him and surrender their lives fully to Him. This is how we become those world-changers and history-makers we love to talk about.

This new class has a real hunger to know their God intimately, represent Him accurately by being transformed more into His image, and to grow in covenant relationships with each other. There is an excitement and expectation in the air for what God wants to do in them, and through them, in the months ahead. We've only begun, but the anticipation and receptivity is very encouraging. Our new staff members, Jeff Kline and Christy Lawson, are fitting in extremely well and have been a tremendous blessing to us all. The new interns this year; Kaleb Willis, Tyson Gilbert, Evan Crealock, Rosemary Puccio, Anthea Talamaivao, and Charlli Read are doing an excellent job and really carry Father's heart for the students and the MC. And of course Kelsey Greeson and Melissa Baker are doing their normal fantastic jobs as the foundation of our MC staff. We are very grateful!

As a Master's Commission graduates, DeeAnn and I pray for your regularly, and hope that you are remembering all that God did in your life while you were in MC. You got to know Father God more personally and intimately than ever before, and it changed you. We trust you are representing Him well to the world that is in desperate need of His love, wherever you find yourself in these challenging days. As we hear various stores and testimonies of your lives, we are so proud of each of you! God is being glorified through your life! Like the Apostle Paul, keep up your pursuit of "knowing Christ Jesus" and you will walk in "that for which He took hold of you" and you will change your world.

We love and miss each one of you, Pastor Kevin & DeeAnn

Graduate Update!

Justice! Loving God+Loving Others
For many, the craziness of the world today is reason to grow anxious, discouraged and fearful. Some people would rather close the door on bad news. Really, who needs more reports of war, political turmoil, economic instability, sexual exploitation and sadness? It is sometimes easier for me to react and retreat into our Christian subculture where things are comparatively comfortable. As for my Christian friends and church functions we will engage in an occasional "outreach" to the local soup kitchen or hosted-cause in our area and I have become convicted that we often try to wiggle out of the call to respond.

We all have to find out what adventure Jesus wants us as individuals focused on and choose our battles wisely but we are each called to engage in justice (love in action)- this is not a suggestion or something for a select few radicals to take care of, it's for you and I! It is a command for every Jesus-follower (Isa 1:17; James 1:27). I am convinced that our love for God is expressed in our love for others through tangible service and healthy Christian activism - especially on behalf of the poor and voiceless.

After graduating from the Master's Commission in 2001, I was pretty sure I was going to "save the world". I wasn't sure exactly what that would look like- all I know is that I had a great deal of zeal! After a few years of tempered expectations, ups-and-downs, and necessary training this desire to serve God boldly turned into a quiet resolve to see God's justice touch the world through His people. Now as a college-graduate, I have recently spent over a year working for Dennis Peacocke's organization, Strategic Christian Services (SCS) - it has been an honor to work with SCS, recognizing the determined devotion for training others to fully live for God, serve others wholeheartedly and accurately. In all these years of training SCS has impacted my passions and solidified specific desire to join the modern abolitionists - specifically those who are working tirelessly to see slavery stopped again. This is my cause, my soupbox and my mission. I personally feel that this is the greatest issue of our day. Many people do not realize that "force service" (mostly among women and children) is the fastest growing illegal industry in the world - specifically that domestic trafficking is on the rise in addition, to the number of slaves today in greater than during all the years of transatlantic African slave-trade combined!

Recently I was given an opportunity to contribute abolitionist cause in my city. The organization International Justice Mission (IJM) sent out an email requesting volunteers who would be willing to take one hour and sit down with a member of congress, requesting their signature to a bill called the Child Protection Compact Act. The Act would enable relief organizations and the US government to partner with countries that have problems with the transportation and active trafficking of children; prosecuting perpetrators and providing aftercare for victims. IJM arranged conference calls and organized groups of volunteers all over the country with members of Congress within a few short months.

This is just one example of something small that I was able to be a part of- what could you do? Some have hosted information parties in their cities and some students have held rally groups. There are still others that are pursuing college degrees to become certified as "aftercase" counselors for this type of victim recovery program. After getting involved, I have become aware of that churches all over the country are mobilizing members to prayer, host personal fundraising events, rallies and awareness meetings. Some people are finding other ways to serve. Perhaps your willingness to volunteer at a women's shelter or with a similar organization in your area as increased after reading this article. I encourage you to ask the Lord how you can more fully express His love and justice to those around you. You will be amazed at the adventure He will take on! Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information or resources about human trafficking and modern slavery!

Politcal Column!

Get Wisdom!

Worldview affects decisions. This is a basic principle of life. The set of assumptions about the world and values we hold to be true are the single most important key to understanding why we do all that we do. So what is the Christian worldview on politics? What does God have to say about the responsibilities and functions of the state we belong to? And more pressing how does he want us to deal with current issues? What is His perspective on the global financial crisis, the environment, terrorism, health care and Iran?

Before everyone gets all excited or suspicious, I'm not going to answer questions. That's not the point of this article. What I am going to say is that as Christians we have a responsibility to be seeking out answers to these questions-and finding them. Proverbs 4:5 is a commission to "get wisdom, get understanding." That's a command, not a suggestion or a directive for those specifically "called" to politics, or law or pasturing. It is the fundamental responsibility of the people of God to be those who, like the sons of Issachar, "Understand the times and know what to do." Until this happens, out nations and states will keep making poor decisions and remain clueless in the international area.

Now of course, not many are called to be policy advisors or presidents, ambassadors or representatives. What we are called to, however, is to have answers for those around us. We wonder why our cities and states are in constant decline and deficit, yet we continue to be absent from city councils, homeowners' associations, and action committees-places we need to be! My challenge to us all is two-fold: First, we must be more than informed citizens. We have to have influence. Populate your local government and societies, because this is where models and patterns are established. What would happen if you could help your city in practical and not just spiritual ways? Do we believe God has answers for today's problems? Does everything on earth not belong to Him? Aren't we His stewards in creation? Let's seek the Lord for how he wants us to get wisdom and understanding, and apply it.
